It's Just What I Do, Ben

I will never be able to thank Amy enough for the beautiful memories that she has captured and shared through her blog posts.  The sad thing though, is that she rarely gets her own time in the limelight.  An unfortunate result of being our very own world class photographer!

She never says so, but I have always known that this must bother her.  My proof came when I stumbled across the 143 crazy self portraits that she has taken via her MacBook Photo Booth.  She may kill me for sharing these, but it's time that Amy get her day in the sun...

I always wanted to be a twin.

Facetime anybody?

Now some might say that by moving her across the country, away from her family and friends, it is I that created this photo taking monster.  However, as we sat on the living room floor tonight paging through her work, and I ridiculed her about the time she must waste on a daily basis with this hobby, she defended herself by stating the following..."It's just what i do Ben".

Amy my dear, please add this thing you do to the million others that I love about you.

~update~   this is what i get for going to bed before my husband.  what a pleasant  surprise to see myself, in bad lighting, with no makeup, in twin form staring right back at me.  time for a new hobby.

one last time: this one's for you, ben.

baby milestone

caroline took her first steps on august 25th and she has been perfecting her talent since then.  dare i say she is a walker?!  not my tiny baby?!

but, yes, with my own mixed emotions, she has turned the corner from predominately crawling to walking.  i have been taking video like a crazy person trying to bottle up her last crawling days and the adorable wobbly/unbalanced learning-how-to-walk days.

oh, sweet child o'mine

hallie ann is officially a preschooler.

she is 38 inches tall and 29 pounds.
and she goes to preschool.

for years her favorite colors have been orange and yellow.
and she spends 2 mornings a week at preschool.

she calls shirts "toppings" and dress/shirt straps "handles".
we all use those terms now.
she will wear these things to preschool.

she mixes up the words anything and nothing.
me: whatcha thinking about, hallie?  her: anysing
her preschool teachers will probably correct this.  i think it's too cute to correct.
